Frank McKinney sentenced to Death…Want to Join Me?
01 March 2012Death Valley that is…
I have an important and opportunistic question for you today. Something I have never considered before, until now.
Would you and a friend like to come to Death Valley with me later this year as I train in an attempt to do what only 19 others in the history of the world have accomplished, and help our Caring House Project Foundation build a new village in Haiti at the same time?
No more than 25 people will be able to come with me to our brand new “experience event” called:
“Conquering Your Life’s Badwaters!”
Click the above link to read more, including seeing a video from me and some magnificent photos of the 5 different venues located within the Death Valley National Park where the event will take place! That’s right, we will spend very little time in a hotel meeting room and will convene in some of the most beautiful settings in the world!
Last year, after my 6th successful finish at the Death Valley Badwater135-mile Ultramarathon, I said I was done with the race for good.
All the training, paining, sacrificing and dying had taken its toll. Here is what the very last line of my 2011 race summary said: “And, in case you are wondering (and if Nilsa, my wife reads this), given what we went through this year, this is my LAST Badwater.”
Well, I changed my mind!
I applied to the race and was just invited back to challenge the white line from hell to heaven for my 7th attempt at finishing the Badwater Ultramarathon, a race National Geographic calls the “toughest footrace in the world!”
And I would like for you to join me a month before the race for our June 1-3 event in Death Valley, California:
Conquering Your Life’s Badwaters!
If you are unaware, the Badwater Ultramarathon hosted by AdventureCORPS is an invitation-only race held in Death Valley during the desert’s hottest month of the year, July (this year, July 16-18). Air temperatures can exceed 130 degrees, while ground temps on the blacktop road are 200+ degrees, hot enough to melt the gel in your shoes.
Only 90 runners from 20 countries are invited. Badwater starts at -282 feet below sea level, the lowest point in the western hemisphere. The course traverses 135 non-stop miles through the Mojave, over three mountain ranges, and finishes nearly 8,500 feet above sea level. You must finish in 48 hours. There are no aid stations.
Your probably wondering if I’ve gone mad. Not because I will compete in this race for a 7th time, but because I am inviting you to join me in Death Valley a little over a month before the actual Badwater race for our event called:
Conquering Your Life’s Badwaters!
Stay with me…(and no, you won’t be running in the heat!)
We all have our own life’s Badwaters, defined as those insurmountable, incomprehensible and impossible (the three “I’s”) opportunities that lay themselves on our hearts. Should we pursue them? Or allow them to expire along with all those other life challenges that we missed because we applied our “better judgment” (defined as “Googling it,” gathering opinions from the 99%, and all our negative self talk)…
Click the above link to read much more about the event, including seeing a video and text description of what you will learn, a full hour-by-hour itinerary and many beautiful photos depicting the event’s varied venues (5 different locations – all located within the Death Valley National Park).
Would you and a friend like to Conquer Your Life’s Badwaters with me?
