An Old Series…Something I Rediscovered for the First Time…

“An Old Series…Something I Rediscovered for the First Time…”

It’s been awhile since I corresponded with you. So much useless information lands in our in-boxes that I try to only write you when I have something I think might interest you. I hope you find the following helpful at best, and entertaining at least…

You know, for 10 years straight I walked my daughter Laura (aka Ppeekk) to school. Yes, 1,650 consecutive times we walked beginning in Pre-K through 8th grade. She never sat in the backseat of a car to go to school during those 10 years! If you never read the story, visit: https://www.frank-mckinney.com/blog.asp?article=274.

Sadly, that tradition came to an end this year when she graduated 8th grade and started high school. But, we have started a new tradition.

I drive her the 9.4 miles to school each morning. We arrive a half-hour early and visit the little 22′ x 24′ chapel from 7:15-7:30 where there is a daily scripture reading Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and a Communion Service mass on Tuesday and Thursday. I certainly cherish the time I get to spend with Laura and God in the chapel each morning. It is a great way to start our day!

Since the return trip takes about 20 minutes (14 traffic lights in total), as I drive back home alone, I have started to listen to inspirational CDs. Some business, some spiritual. You see, I really don’t drive that much, never have. My treehouse office has been within 8 miles of our oceanfront projects over the last 15 years, therefore I never really took the time to listen to much in the car, and couldn’t when I rode my motorcycle.

I recently started listening to a series of CDs that I have owned for a few years, but never took the time to listen to. I felt that I needed to revisit and reconnect to the philosophies and principles that were supposed to be contained in the 12+ hours of material. Maybe I had strayed a little from them?

You are going to find this hard to believe, but I am listening to myself on those CDs.

That’s right, some years ago I took special digital recording equipment up to my treehouse office and, over a period of a few months, recorded “Frank McKinney’s Succeeding in the Business of Life – The Series” (https://www.frank-mckinney.com/audio_video.aspx), a 12-hour audio book and video CD. You may be unaware that I even had such an offering.

The Series was recorded after my first two books were written, but before my last three. It is primarily based on the content of my first book Make it BIG! with a bit of Frank McKinney’s Maverick Approach sprinkled in. I use these books as a guide as I share their content with you as if you are up in my treehouse office with me. It is much more of a personal interaction or discussion than a book on tape.

Why am I listening to myself? Lately it seemed that I had lost touch with many of the principals, philosophies and even motivation that formed who I was at a younger age. I don’t know what lead me to load The Series into the CD player in my car, but I am sure glad I did. It is refreshing, and honestly very timely for me to reconnect with the exuberance, entrepreneurial fire and drive at that time in my life. I am learning from me.

If you don’t have The Series, visit the link above to learn more. If you pick one up for yourself or for someone as a gift, we include an autographed copy of Make it BIG!, an autographed copy of Frank McKinney’s Maverick Approach and a DVD tour of a 25 million home we built.

Sure we would like to sell The Series for the benefit of our Caring House Project Foundation (www.chpf.org), as ALL proceeds go to CHPF, but I just had to tell you that I had never actually listened to it myself, and thought I didn’t have to. After all, I recorded it! I was wrong, the material helped me reconnect with who I am and I think it will really help you to Succeed in the Business of Life!
