Me, Buddha and the Desert?
19 May 2011I always try to share what I believe is meaningful information with you. I hope you find the following beneficial, and that your summer will soon be off to a great start!
Speaking of starts, today marks a significant milestone for me. Twenty-five years ago today, May 19, 1986, I started in the real estate business. It certainly has been a thrilling ascent! Thank you for being there for part of the journey.
“Exercise Your Risk Threshold Like A Muscle. Eventually It Will Become Stronger And Able To Withstand Greater Pressure” – excerpted from all of my books!

On Thursday, June 9, 6:00-9:00pm ET I will be celebrity chef at Buddha Sky Bar in downtown Delray Beach benefiting the Delray Beach Library. Buddha Sky bar is a fantastic new restaurant, the tallest in the city. You can see the ocean from the glass encased rooftop arboretum! I will be matching the monies raised that night, so come out and taste my cooking and break Frank’s bank! Also, remember Kimberley? She’s now the Development Director for the Library, and will be there to say hello. Call her at 561.266.0775 or click here to make your Buddha reservations today! Buddha Sky Bar: 217 E. Atlantic Avenue, Delray 33444.
The start gun goes off for my 6th Badwater 135-mile Death Valley Ultramarathon at 6:00am PT on July 11. I will be enduring this brutal test of human will, and “selectively suffering a little for those who are suffering a lot involuntarily in Haiti”.
Why am I doing this – again?
My participation in the invitation-only Badwater Death Valley race is the primary fund-raiser for our Caring House Project Foundation for the remainder of 2011.
I would be honored if you would support my effort:
Donate $1 for every mile of my Death Valley race, or $135. Let me do all the running and struggling. I ask that you help those who can’t help themselves. Please consider more than “1” in the quantity box if donating online. For every $135 you donate you will provide one bio-sand water filter that we continue to send to fight cholera PLUS 450 meals for the most desperately poor and homeless in Haiti.
Donate $10 for every mile, or $1,350. Should you choose this option you will have built 1/2 of a concrete home in Haiti PLUS provided 1,000 meals! Talk about a “ROD” – Return On Donation!
Donate $30 for every mile, or $4,050. This donation will have a huge impact in Haiti. You will have built one brand new concrete home for a family of 8 who were living in a mud or cardboard shack. Your home will have 2 rooms, kitchen, front porch and bathroom. PLUS you will provide 15 bio-sand water filters to fight cholera, PLUS 500 more meals! The ultimate donation support for the ultimate race!
Don’t see a donation option that suits you? Please visit our donate page. There are 70+ alternatives to choose from. Perhaps one to commemorate my 25th year in business?
If you would prefer to make your donation over the phone, please call 561.718.3061, or mail it to CHPF, P.O. Box 388 Boynton Beach, FL 33425.
The race will be webcast live and have a Twitter feed so you can keep up with my progress. Visit www.badwater.com during the race (July 11-13) to watch the webcast. Thank you in advance for your support.
